Are your systems letting you and your customers down?
It’s the small things that grate.
There I was in a cafe paying quite a lot for a quiche and salad. The quiche was very nice but the salad came naked and I wanted it dressed.
I was asked if I’d like salad dressing and I said yes, and a set of bottles in a cruet arrived unmarked so I poured something on.
The next table got salad and they were told that there was salad cream and french dressing, they were then served with the salad dream from the cruet on my table which now seemed to have become its permanent home! And then the next table had their salad and were offered Honey and Mustard Dressing and Balsamic again from the bottles I now owned on my table!
I am particularly fond of honey and mustard dressing and given the choice would have had it. To my eyes none looked like it.
This is not a restaurant review just an observation of how a lack of a system can be very frustrating for a customer. There was no system – WHY?
So the the simple question is – are you consistent with your customers? Is it chance what they get told? Even if you work alone are you certain you say the same thing and do the same thing each time?
Our next business skills session on the 30th July 2019 will discuss how you can systemise your business as discussed in the great book the E myth. If you want to attend for free let us know. If you are reading this after that date you can still experience the session as we will be recording it.
